The lists for Thomas's and Broomwood Hall (The Vicarage) will almost certainly be full now - they'll probably still take your registration form and fee but the chances of getting an assessment would be very unlikely.

Try Bertrum House, Wandsworth Prep and worth enquiring about Broomwood's Garrads Road site in Streatham as it tends to be a little less competitive than their other sites.

Good luck! x

Went to Wandsworth Prep open day. Very interesting ethos.
But I did like it. They have the right connections definitely.
Very pratical and project based approach to teaching.
Only downside I felt was they are too heavily ICT oriented. Too much reliance on Ipads , however, that is wat the future looks like, isn't it.
Definitely worth a look. If we stay in the area, we will look to register our son there.

The White House is also worth a call

Some schools may take your registration money and then never interview your child so do ask if you are on the first list or the reserve list

Hello,

We are a single form entry non-selective school with a very nurturing ethos. Bertrum House is rather unique in the area as we are an infant school with our children feeding into a wide range of local schools after Year 2.

For further information, please look at our website: www.bertrumhouseschool.co.uk or phone the school office on: 020 87674051 to book a show round.

We'd love to meet you and show you our school.

Thanks all! You've given me a lot of reassurance. I'll hit the phones tomorrow :-)

You'll be too late for the first come first served schools (Hornsby, Finton, Eaton House) but should be ok for the selective ones (Broomwood, Thomas, DPL etc...) although they also close their lists once they have a certain number registered for the admission tests so I wouldn't hang around.

Wandsworth Prep might be a good bet as it is newer so not so oversubscribed yet.

Definitely not too late. Try Oliver House, Wandsworth Prep, Thomas's.

Try Dolphin on Northcote Rd. It's non selective and is a very caring school from all accounts.

Thomas's and Broomwood only make their offers the year before a child is due to start so offers for 2015 will be made in the autumn term of 2014 so you should be able to get on their lists. Both schools will spend time with the children before making offers.

I have a friend who got into Eaton House late on and so worth a try although for 2015 it's unlikely they'll offer you a place now but will put you on a waiting list.

Help! Too late to apply for private reception 2015?

We've just recently moved here and now doing the rounds of applications for schools. Are we just too late for putting our name down? We need a place for reception for 2015. I've called a few (including Hornsby and Finton) and been politely told there is no chance.

Any recommendations for schools where we may still have a chance at getting in at this late stage?

We will consider state schools too but not sure where we will end up buying in the area so definitely need private as an option.
