I'm so, so sorry to hear that. Such a terrible loss. My thoughts are with you.

I posted on here last month, about my cousin.

Today, he lost his battle with life.

But if it wasn't for the helimedics his family wouldn't of been able to say goodbye

They do such a fantastic job

Thank you everyone for your incredible support. We're so touched that people are willing to help.

Cycling, even in London, is incredibly safe as long as you wear a helmet and are acutely aware of the risks and take sensible precautions to protect yourself. My other half was involved in a totally freak accident so please don't be put off cycling - it could just as easily have happened while driving, as a pedestrian or anywhere really. The main thing I want people to realise is that a completely unexpected, random accident could unfortunately happen anytime so it's vital that life-saving services, like air ambulances, are in place. Kiss your loved ones and make sure they know how much you love them.

Thanks again x

I do hope your partner is recovering well. I have also donated, like many others my husband cycles to work.

Just donated. Great cause. I have a cycling husband and due to the number of accidents in London involving cyclists, I'm constantly worrying that I'll get a knock on the door one day. Really feel for you and your family. Keep us updated with his progress.

Have just donated. Fantastic cause, great hospital (my oldest son was born there) and I have a cycling husband too. Hope your husband makes a good recovery, HelpKings.

I have just made a donation, a great cause for a great hospital. 2 of my children were born there prematurely and the care they received was amazing.

I really hope your husband recovers fully, and I really hope the helipad gets built ASAP!

Thank you so much for your post and whether it was you or any number of the many, many brilliant nurses who helped him, I cannot thank you enough. Every single person at King's has been amazing, truly heroic and we've been so touched by the spectacular level of care we've experienced. Thank you for the incredible work you do.

I'm one of the nurses at Kings A and E, our job is extremely challenging but also very rewarding. At the moment like op stated we are trying to raise the funds for a helicopter pad at kings. By having this facility it will save countless more lives as in trauma EVERY second counts. Thank you so much to the original poster who despite having the worry and concern of her partner being unwell decided to raise awareness of this. I hope he's on the mend, and once again thank you for raising awareness. On the 27th and 28th of this month some of the more braver members of staff are abseiling down kings attempting to raise money for the helipad if anyone wishes to donate please go to www.virginmoneygiving.com/team/TeamKingsED. We need to raise £3.5 million for the helipad which will undoubtably save hundreds of life. Xx

My young cousin was riding a motorbike and had a crash 6 months ago yesterday.

He is still very poorly in hospital.

He was resuscitated twice at the scene and flown to hospital by helicopter.
If the helimedics wasn't available that day, andwasnt as quick as they were, he may not of made it to hospital.

Minutes really do matter.

Kings needs this helipad.

St Georges has one.

Let's all donate a little something if we can

This really touched me, and I agree, a very important service and something we should all support and be thankful for. HelpKings, I do hope your husband recovers soon and thank you for raising awareness of this. I have just donated.
