We started off trying to find builders ourselves but really struggled to find a decent one who was available - there seems to be more work around than builders at the moment.

Then a friend recommended Design and Build London www.designbuildlondon.co.uk

Design and Build London UK provide work that has been completed to a high end spec by a trustworthy and skilled workforce. Design and Build London UK  team have done work for my friends for over 10 years. This has included a new kitchen, knocking through from the lounge to the kitchen, a new front garden wall and paving and built in wardrobes. I am always excited to see the work completed and have never been disappointed.
What I really like about company is that he is happy to discuss your ideas and give you options to think about. With all his experience he will advise if he thinks something will not work whilst still making sure you get what you want – great for someone like me who only thinks about the final aesthetic and not the detail you need to think of beforehand to get there. He is also very patient which I love as I can be a bit indecisive.
When people admire work that and his team have done and ask who did it that in itself is a great recommendation and I can without any hesitation 100% recommend - Design and Build London www.designbuildlondon.co.uk 02071128988direct. 07542 393906

Hi There,

It's a shame not to have seen your post sooner !

Having formerly worked in estate agency (between the commons) and for a mid-scale design-led property development company in central London there are a few ways in which I could help.

I work very closely with a contractor with over 20 years of experience doing this type of project and my father is an architect, also with decades of experience working with the Wandsworth Borough Council's planning department. As both are smaller outfits, we are also able to be very very competitive price wise and we can also project manage the works if necessary.

This is the most relevant section of my website if you would like to take a look:

Please do get in touch to discuss further at info@placelondon.co.uk or on 020 3051 9371

Kind Regards

Grace

Hi

I would strongly recommend Rory Gordon of Good London Builders http://www.goodlondonbuilders.com

My friend is using him for a complete house renovation off Northote Rd at the moment - massive job: internal remodelling, kitchen extension, loft extension and new garden and he is taking care of the lot. My friend has 2 kids under 2 years old and says Rory is a godsend as she simply doesn't have the time to do all the footwork such a big project needs. If you're a busy mum or working woman he'll make sure everything keeps on track by making sure you know when you need to order things by. And he has weekly client meetings, plus sends regular emails and photos between times, so you are always aware of how the building work is going.

Rory is an independent project manager, so I'd really recommend him is the best place to start as he will find the best builders and architects for you, rather than someone who works for a specific building company. He also has loads of trade contacts so will help source fixtures and fittings at great rates. And he can sort interior deigners for you if you need extra help in styling, though my friend says he has great taste!

I should add that I don't work for Rory and I've only met him through my friend, so this is not a recommendation with any ulterior motive! If you would like to speak to my friend, send me a direct email and I can put you in touch with her. And if you do speak to Rory, please do mention my name (Alex) - as it always helps to have a recommendation.

Good luck!

hi there - we completed a whole house rennonation and used hurlinghamdevelopments.co.uk . They were very good and finished the project on time - they also have their own architects which seemed quite competititively priced. We had to choose our builder carefully as rennovating a whole house or engaging in a project like yours - you really need to know you have chosen the right builder - we found that few had this experience. I've heard too many rennovation disaster stories - and ours was not one - Good luck with everything call Andy on 07739 174 360

Hi, are you still looking for builders? We had some major work done earlier this year by Riga Interiors who project managed everything and were absolutely brilliant. If you want more details, drop me an email.

Hi we have done our fair share of building work over the years and would definitely recommend the builders we have just used for our kitchen renovation. The were fantastic to work with, nothing was too much trouble and they finished the project on time which is a first for us! We are so pleased with the end result and wish we had used them on our previous projects. You can get the contact numbers etc from their website www.increasespace.co.uk ask for Tommy or Lee. Best of luck!

We are 12 weeks into a 14 week project which has involved adding a 4 metre extension (plus bashing down an internal wall between the old kitchen and dining room) to create a massive kitchen / diner with shower room, plus doing a loft conversion and rearranging the 1st floor. We've had bathroom fitting, kitchen fitting, extensive new electrics, plastering, plumbing etc etc

I'd recommend my builder as his team have worked fast and hard, turning up even in the worst snow to carry on working on our roof. I'm amazed how quickly they have worked.

We should be finished by Xmas, so I think my builder may be free to start another project in January or else in April as he may have a big 3 month job starting in Clapham in the New Year.

We used a architectural drawing firm who charged us £800 to do our drawings for the loft/ extension and to obtain the necessary planning permission for the extension and certificate of lawful development for the loft. This worked out as cheaper than an architects, although our project was straightforward and we knew what we wanted so just needed it drawn and the planning.

If you want the details for my builder and architect, message me.
