Designer Alterations are great; I work in the fashion industry and use them often for dress alterations/ fittings for clients!

You could get a counter quote from Perfect Alterations on Bedford Hill on right as you're coming from Balham, before Balham Medical Centre. She's a trained seamstress who has found that alterations are more popular but she is qualified to copy dresses. She's incredibly cheap for alterations and very good so hopefully she'll be well priced for dressmaking too. 0208 675 5499. You can park for free in Sainsbury's (I didn't say that!)

I've been very pleased with the things I've had done by the lady at Cathay Original which is very close to Clapham South tube station. www.cathayoriginal.com

Good luck

Does anybody know of a good (and reasonable)tailor/tailoress in sw11 area?
I would like to have this dress I have seen in John lewis done (sadly enough they don't have it in the size neither in the colour I want it) for a special occassion in mid Feb

I am clueless!

Thank you
