Thank you very much, appreciate the advice.

Is there anything you think that the toy companies are missing out on when it comes to bath toys?

Thank you

Ours like the plastic tea set for pouring cups of tea with the teapot. Just need to make sure they don't drink the bath water. Also go through phases of just using normal toys in the bath - e.g. plastic animals for hiding and finding beneath bubbles or plastic babies for bathing - useful for times when they need persuading to go in the bath.

The favourite for both my three year old and my one year old is the hairwash jug.

Oh, and having a shower of bubbles blown into the bath for them to pop.

Ditto, containers to pour water in and out of are the best. We have loads of toys, but favorites are my empty shampoo bottles

Rubber ducks, boats etc are nice but yes they get manky water trapped inside, yuk.

Wind up swimming bath toys are fun as are the bath squirters, our DS loved the plastic bath books. Once he got to 2, we gave him water pistols to play with in the bath as well. There are some "light up" plastic bath toys which flash upon contact with water which are also fun.

p.s. the small plastic balls are not good until you can teach the children not to put them in their mouths as they could cause choking. Sorry...the lawyer in me made me think the warning was needed! Still, loads of fun once they are old enough.

Plastic pitchers/jugs and empty plastic bottles of different sizes to pour water around and make squirty noises are good, as are plastic stacking toys with different numbers of holes in the bottom, rubber ducks and the like (but they get mildew-y pretty quickly...urgh). We've added in the foam alphabet letters and small plastic balls (99p store; they are really fun to squeeze between your thumb and finger to shoot around or into a bucket) later, but these have all kept our daughter entertained for 3.5yrs now. We had the Tomy (I think) pirate boat but it didn't quite live up to any of our expectations. We have waterproof little books as well, but those never were super-popular. Character washcloth puppets were vaguely interesting but not as much as the containers.

I am wondering if the mums out there can help answer a question regarding bath time? I am looking a range of toys for ages 6months to 18 months, but I do not know where to start? Are electronic bath toys the way forward? Are they relevant at bath time? Do they take away the intimacy of bath time?
