Hi there,
I'm local here (born and raised in Thailand) but have been living in London for seven years. I have a two year old and travel to Thailand yearly. I would recommend Six Senses hotel group (
http://www.sixsenses.com/). They have fantastic creche with qualified staff to look after the children. We particularly like Evason Huahin (the Brand Evason is a grade lower to the Six Senses brand within the group but by no means any worse). I'm obviously a big fan of the group which was founded by a British and Swedish, sold to a US private equity fund in the recent years. It is therefore operating with such a high standard. It also has this big sustainability and eco-friendly position which speaks to me. We have been so impressed by the quality of staff. Not only they are happier working here (compare to other hotels we had gone, they said they are better paid), they speak English better (which is important if you want to leave your kids with them), they also are very efficient and seems to all love children. I have used both kids club and babysitter and have been very pleased. When my toddler was four months, we hired a sitter there for two hours so that we can go to the spa and come back. My baby was crying but was calm in the carer arm and went to sleep, she then sat and held him with rocking motion when we left the room. Two hours later she still sat at the same position for fear of waking him up!!!!!!! By no mean the best way in the Western book but it goes to show how dedicated she was to my child. Six Senses group is very luxurious and have fantastic spa. Oh I can't sing enough praises about the group.
I am going back this Dec. and thinking about booking with Aleenta group of hotel in Phuket (
http://www.aleenta.com). The reason I'm not going back to Evason in Huahin is that we have a wedding to attend in Phuket but we went to Aleenta pre-marriage and was very impressed as well. But we didn't have children then so I can't tell you about the creche experience although Aleenta phuket's creche looking rather swell. Thai people generally are very kind to children, they treat them like royals so I think your children will have a fantastic time.
