I've never paid more than £10 for my daughters trainers - just go on line to somewhere like sports direct or jjb and you can usually get well known brands in the sale.
Re school shoes, I usually get them measured at trotters/ one small step, buy school shoes and shoes they will wear a lot there but save on things like trainers, Wellies (next do plain coloured wellies). I also try and plan it so I get 40% off from the trotters loyalty card for school shoes (buying ballet shoes/canvas pumps counts so over a year I usually make it ).
