Hoads is a shoe shop on Allfarthing Lane in Earlsfield - the girls are really lovely and they do have a good range of shoes. We just got my sons there and they weren't too badly priced - they actually recommended the cheaper pair of the two we tried on because they fit better. They made sure they fit well but had good room for growth too so they would last a bit longer too. They do a loyalty scheme too. Hope that helps!! X

Sainsburys for wellies and trainers, or mothercare for wellies (but beware, our size 6 toddler wellies in mothercare are bigger than size 7 in sainsburys)- both have wellies for £7ish in basic range. I think sports direct may have wellies too.

John Lewis or Peter Jones are very good.
they will measure your daughter's feet and if they do not have her size in stock you can order the shoes and have them delivered to your nearest Waitrose.

I agree with others, do not save on school shoes because you will be amazed at how the shoes will be just after the first week
I spend a little fortune on them but i do not have to change them unless they dont fit anymore. They tend to fit until April-May.

For trainers i buy good brand for the same reason and last year they lasted until June. Buying in sport direct is a good idea as there are always good deals.

I dont buy wellies anymore as we use gore tex walking boots now which can be used jn any weather anywhere (we walk a lot). But asda has very cheap ones if you need wellies.

I've never paid more than £10 for my daughters trainers - just go on line to somewhere like sports direct or jjb and you can usually get well known brands in the sale.

Re school shoes, I usually get them measured at trotters/ one small step, buy school shoes and shoes they will wear a lot there but save on things like trainers, Wellies (next do plain coloured wellies). I also try and plan it so I get 40% off from the trotters loyalty card for school shoes (buying ballet shoes/canvas pumps counts so over a year I usually make it ).

i need to get my daughter school shoes in the next few days and not sure how to do this well and cost effectively. i really like to know her feet are measured accurately and have come to trust Trotters on Northcote Rd, however it is pricey. Does anyone have any suggestions? My two year old also needs autumn shoes and we need weliies, trainers ..
