There are a few around. A few years ago while we were at the army museum, a relative bought an old man's war memorabilia in. The museum was evacuated for a couple of hours ( buggies and belongings left inside) while the bomb squad carried out controlled explosions on two active bombs.

One museum employee said the old man was using one for a door stop.... not sure he was joking either!

Whew that was close.

So one of his employees found it and the Landscape Gardner set about cleaning all the mud off of it - with a trowel probably :o . It was only when he took it in his van to a local WW2 expert it was identified as a live bomb!

He is one lucky landscape gardener!

A street was closed by bomb squad police and residents told to leave their homes after a landscape gardener unearthed a suspected unexploded bomb.

An area near Clapham Common was on high alert on Friday after the bomb dating back to the Second World War was discovered in a back garden of a home.
