Right - still have bad hair. It's now less of a "Rachel" - more of an 8 year old schoolgirl at present. My fault as I didn't follow wonderful suggestions above - just went to one round here that does have a loyal following locally and was able to "fit me in" when I phoned...was expensive so it is frustrating.

Anyway so that particular hairdresser, although lovely, was not our holy grail for fine hair - sigh - so as soon as I get my next cut i will chose somone from above and then report back!

And also in the meantime if any of you fine haired friends find anyone - let us know!

I am on the verge of going to my kids cheapo men's hairdressers and asking for a number 2 all over!

Hi I completely understand your frustration. I am a mobile hairdresser with straight fine hair and I know how difficult it can be to get it right. Please feel free to contact me through my website www.mellissaahammond.co.uk or call text on 07947318794
Thanks, Mellissa

Hi there, just wondered how you got on in your search for a good hairdresser. I've had the same problem ever since I've lived in London. I just can't find anyone who can actually cut fine hair. Would be great to find out if you now have a fabulous hairstyle! :)

I may be too late as you might have already visited the hairdresser! But just in case I can really recommend Seeta at Cobella on Battersea Rise. It's not a very glam salon but Seeta is brilliant. I have incredibly fine hair and like you have always found hairdressers wanting to put layers in, or feather it round my face, and I've never been really happy. A couple of years ago I was recommended Seeta and I now wouldn't go to anyone else. She has so much confidence in her cuts that I trust her to get it right, even with a few layers in!
Give her a go, you won't regret it.

Thank you both - will try them! Fingers crossed!
At the moment I have a second rate "Rachel from Friends in the 1990s"
Need to get it sorted!

I'm a huge fan of Ed at Edward James on Northcote Road. They really give you that 'special' treatment.

I think Adina at HeadSouth on the northcote road is great. She's very experienced and really takes time listening to what you want. It's just by sweaty Betty.

Can't seem to find anyone who can cut my fine straight hair properly! It should be fairly easy but have tried several hairdressers in the area and no one seems to have the knack! They always put in loads of layers which just look clunky and dated and I don't think are the best thing for fine hair.

Not the end of the world I know but it's a bit frustrating considering the price of a cut round here! First world problem of course!

Can anyone recommend someone for me? I would be forever grateful!

Xxxx
