I would like to highly recommend Green Life Contractors. We were impressed right from the beginning was the clear and accurate pricing structure that allowed us to see exactly what different aspects of the work were going to cost.

Green Life Contractors and their Architects did all the drawings, party wall, planning and project management which we found to be an extremely easy and efficient way of doing things.

Our project manager was great and attended the site routinely and regularly and was always quick to respond to calls or emails if we had any questions.

The building team were great. We live in the house while the work was done and they were very easy to have around and flexible around our daily routine. They tidied up every day too!

Hi guys we bought what was the worst house on the best road. We watched home under the hammer and grand designs so fancied a bash at a large scale reconstruction. Luckily we found Adrian and his team. The goal was a large double sided extension plus total renovation of the existing structure. In life there is the expectation/aspiration, then there is the reality. This was one of the most challenging tasks we had undertaken. However Adrian was pivotal with his firm guiding us along the way. Whenever we had a challenge there was several alternatives put in front of us. In the end what we purchased doesn't resemble where we live. Due to the quality we are about to ask Adrian to start a small project as we trust him to deliver a quality job on time.

Just to add to this, we also chose to use Venford Construction for a significant development of our house, which we split into two flats. We chose Adrian and his team (now re-branded as Porters Development) as they were the best value, but in particular we liked that Adrian had worked in all the building trades before managing his own company (some of the other firms we spoke to sent the 'sales guy' to quote which was pointless as they couldn't give us practical advice or real experience and timings.) Adrian had a wealth of knowledge and was very calm and approachable.
We spoke to a few of his previous clients before we booked him and they were all very complimentary.
The team worked very hard, and long hours, often weekends too and right up to Xmas. The timing was almost bang on (which is unheard of, right?!) The finish was a high standard and they came back as promised to do all the snagging with no trouble at all (we've had a bad previous experience when the builders disappeared after the main job and it was a hell of a job getting them to finish snagging).

I am a local interior designer and have used this team several times to work on both clients' houses and my own.
The quality of work is excellent and the company owners are fantastic communicators. As previously posted, nothing is too much trouble and the customer comes first. Their after service is also second to none.

I have also used Venford Construction for an extension on our kitchen. I can't recommend them highly enough. They are very friendly and experienced and completed our works within the time frame and budget. They kept us informed at all times and all of their builders worked really hard to get the job done.
We had a new born baby and they were also very aware of this and made our home as clean and tidy as possible at the end of each day.
I would use them again for any large or small job that we might have.

Hi Susi - I just wanted to say thanks for posting this recommendation on NVN. We have looked around and spoke to a few building companies and chose Venford who are currently doing a massive renovation for our detached 4 bedroom house.
They are competitive on quote, but what we found is more important is customer service and willingness to do the job to very high standard (we are doing extension, loft and garage conversion)
- Both PMs are always available and involved in the project, helping us to make decision but also trying to add value with their suggestions. We don't pay them for PM job and considering we don't live onsite, we trust them to run it
- Their builders are really hard working, we visit frequently and every time they work without a break 8-5 and every single Saturday (we even checked on Xmas eve and they were there BAU)
- They also know many contacts (architect and engineer, electricians, suppliers of doors/windows/finishes) and all of them proved so far to be reliable and good value
- Attitude: Adrian and Noel have the right attitude, being always available and willing to help, responsive to our multiple emails and questions
- They have a large team and each are specialising in different jobs so you always know that they employ proper British/Irish tradesmen who take pride in their job and work extremely efficiently and professionally, not like cowboys we have unfortunately met in the past
- I have also seen a few properties that they have renovated and the result is stunning, they do commercial projects on larger scale which gives me assurance that this company knows what they are doing and get excellent references

All-in, I can highly recommend this company who will do the job to the highest standard and within the time scale, starting from simple projects to implementing structrual and engineering solutions. We already recommended them to friends but I am really gtateful to NVN for finding the recommendation in first place.

Having refurbed a house 5 years ago (just after my youngest was born) with a cowboy builder who went AWOL before finishing the job, I have to let all you mums know about this amazing, reliable, trustworthy builder who cannot do enough for you.

They have been looking after our house for a few years doing little and big jobs like a new boiler, dealing with damp problems, repointing ... Always quickly and effortlessly and at very reasonable cost.

The owner and MD can't do enough for us and now we are looking to move house they come along to view houses we are interested in so they can advise us on the cost of the refurb before we make an offer. This has been so valuable and if you are looking for a good, reliable builder for small or big jobs I would wholeheartedly recommend them without reservation.
