OK, Darren Sims (local police officer) has responded and says...

"NappyValleyNet Hi, sorry for the delay. Could you pass on my email: northcote.snt@met.police.uk & ask the NVN'r to send me an add & tel no"

"I'll get in touch when I'm back in tomorrow AM..."

"In the meantime keep those doors and windows secure and check out http://actionfraud.police.uk/"

Obviously if you're really worried then dialling 101 might be an idea but if you can wait until tomorrow then I'm sure Darren will be in contact.

Hope that helps...

Well, interestingly, though he wore a DPD hat, I am not sure he worked for DPD.

He gave me a clipboard where he wanted me to sign my name. I flipped back a page to see if it looked legit - and there was a page of previous signatures. I gave a very reluctant scribble and he told me it had to be legible. I then scribbled again and gave it back.

The head on the sheets was some company that started with an "A" I believe.

I am not sure how DPD works, but I would not be surprised if they outsourced the local delivery to other firms. I might check on that.

Can you contact DPD for a sender address?

Hi
I'll tweet this at the local police.

They might be able to help.

I'm sure there is a rational explanation but I can imagine it's extremely worrying,

Not sure how to edit my previous post, so apologies for the double post -

but also there was no invoice in here.

So, no invoice. No postage. Nothing but a sticker with my handwritten name on the outside. Wrapped in brown paper.

Cheap headphones.

And I didn't order it.

I checked my Amazon account - nothing was ordered from there.

This had no invoice, either. Which is also weird.

Not sure if relevant but

Some friends had a fraudster deliver a package to their house. The credit card had been compromised, and the fraudster used their home address for delivery. He was actually waiting nearby and intercepted the postman walking up to their door and opened the package there.

Rather odd.

I just had a man in a DPD hat knock and deliver (and made me sign for) a package.

A package I didn't order.

I opened it and it is a pair of cheap headphones. Hand addressed. No postage or any sort on it. Wrapped in brown paper.

I am very, very suspicious of this.

I quizzed this delivery guy - and he said he had no idea, he had only been working for them 1 week.

Has anyone had a similar experience? This does not smell right to me.
