I can highly recommend the wonderful Serena Forbes who has a wealth of experience and also one of the few acupuncturists attached to the obstetrician society. I think it's important to use someone experienced in this field rather than someone who just does general acupuncture.

I see Serena at home or on Fulham Road but I know that she has a clinic in Battersea.

Hi my regular reflexologist is amazing. She will come to you and is available around 10am until 3pm daily. I went to her with my last and baby came with no induction! She also really helped with my recovery. A caring person who comes to you means no travelling with our big bumps. I'm seeing her regularly I'm 32 weeks but last time I was 40 weeks when I started.

She is called KJ and from Battesea (her site comes up on google)

Hi Pie81,

Our Acupuncturist, Nick Johnson, is excellent and has seen many mums-to-be who are looking for a better alternative to induction. He has had quite a lot of success - one lady went into labour 40 minutes after her session!

Happy to arrange for you to have a free chat / consultation with him before making your choice. Just give us a call on 02077207933.

Good luck with the next few weeks and hopefully speak soon

Hi pie81

As an acupuncturist, would definitely recommend seeing someone from the acupuncture childbirth team (http://www.actlondon.net) these guys really know what they are doing!

They may need to consult with your primary carer as inducing at 38/39 weeks isn't the norm.

Good luck. I hope it goes really well x

bringing on labour with acupuncture/reflexology?

Hi all

I've been told I'll have to be induced at due date because of gestational diabetes. I'm keen to go into labour naturally before that so as to avoid induction if I can. one of the (many!) things I am hoping to after 38 weeks to bring on labour is acupuncture or reflexology.

I wondered if anyone can suggest a reflexologist or an acupuncturist who is knowledgeable about this and will do a "kick off of labour" session after about 38/39 weeks? ideally local to the sw12/sw11 area as I expect I'll be too huge to travel far by then.

Many thanks
