New Baby Company's popular class is now taking place on Saturdays in Southfields SW19. Small group classes up up to ten participants...Accidents in the home are the most common cause of child death and injury. This essential course will equip you with the knowledge and confidence to deal with an emergency situation with your child. We have a special emphasis on the first year of your child’s life and the course is ideal to attend either before baby arrives or during the first year.
Course content includes:
Paediatric Resuscitation and Basic Life Support
Practical Resuscitation Workshop
Choking & Breathing Difficulties
Drowning
Seizures (Fits)
Falls & Head Injuries
Burns & Scalds
Cuts & Bleeding
Poisoning
Infections (including meningitis)
Anaphylaxis and Allergic Reaction
Dealing with objects in Nose/Ears
Understanding SIDS (cot death) guidelines for prevention,
and what to do if you find your baby in difficulty
Your trainer is a currently practicing Senior Emergency Nurse Practitioner, working in a South London teaching hospital, who regularly teaches medical students as part of their clinical training.
The course is of 3 hours duration and the cost is £80 per person
Refreshments & course notes provided, as well as a Paediatric First Aid book to take home.
