Not 100% sure but I think the Loire might be one of those where you kind of take a chance and hope for the best. We're booked to go to Brittany in Aug and that's definitely the case there. As a kid, I remember Brittany being drizzly and 12 degrees one day, and 28 degrees in the shade with not a cloud in the sky the next!

We've been to Duinrell in the Netherlands which you can also book with Eurocamp but we booked direct for one of their premium lodges.

Accommodation was really pleasant and on the doorstep was an indoor water park and a separate theme park plus supermarket and entertainment.

We had a great time, the local town was a five minute walk away and the beach a 15 minute bike ride.

We spent 5 nights in Duinrell and then went to Amsterdam for a long weekend.
We will probably book again for next year and try Italy next time.

I had all your concerns, I was just worried it'd be full of Brits abroad and a bit cheesey but I was so pleasantly surprised. It was actually full of Dutch/Germans, not so many Brits. But it was just lovely. I am NOT a camper and had sleepless nights even at the thought of a caravan but it was great, super comfortable and just so lovely to pretty much let the kids have free rein of the place.

I can't imagine it would have ever been my first choice of place pre kids but actually you could have an amazing holiday there without them too!

Thank you so much for your reply, that is what I wanted to hear! The way you describe it is how I remember it and I know my Children would love that. I was worried about it being a bit "Butlins ish"!

We are actually looking at one of their 3 bed lodges because we are quite a large family and I can't persuade my husband to properly camp under canvas!

We went on a Eurocamp holiday last year to Italy and it was wonderful. If by holiday camp-ish you mean Butlins-y then it certainly wasn't that, but I imagine all the campsites vary. It was just super convenient to have loads of swimming pools, activities for the kids if we wanted them (we didn't this time), supermarket on site, restaurants open all day so could fit in with kids' meals etc. It was just an affordable way to go to the Italian lakes really. There are loads of companies like it, depending on where you want to go. Eurocamp are actually one of the pricier ones. If you're wanting to go to France, there's Yelloh! or Canvas Holidays for across Europe. There are several German and Dutch-run companies too and I saw their accommodation in Italy and was very impressed.

I remember going on Eurocamp holidays as a child and having a really fun time but I was wondering whether anyone has been on one recently? What is the quality like? I am not looking for somewhere "holiday camp ish" if that makes sense!
