Re: Recommendations for Victorian Tiles in Front Garden

Not sure about the tiles - ours were done very well a long time ago, but I can't remember who by.

But for the front door, a very big, completely unreserved, recommendation for The Bespoke Front Door Company https://www.bespokefrontdoor.co.uk/.  They are not the cheapest, but the service included a stained glass designer coming round to design the door with us (not sure how that would work today).  We then got a coloured drawing to approve.  As far as I remember they didn't take a deposit, and when the job overran by about 2 hours into the next day because of difficulties transferring our locks they refused to accept the payment I offered until the whole job was completed to our satisfaction.  We're one of the doors featured on their website, but I won't tell you which one!

We used Paul spanswick, ceramic and stone, and would recommend. I think he is currently tiling a path in fernside road sw12 if you live nearby and want to see his work / speak to him (I noticed his board was up when we drove by at the weekend).

Hi - unfortunately we have never received a proper quote from Martin - looks like he might be a victim of his own success!!
Apart from Urban Oasis is there anyone else you would recommend ?
thanks
Nicky

We used Urban Oasis too, and they did a great job.
They have a very good choice of patterns and styles, so definitely worth checking their website and get a quote.

We used Urban Oasis last year for exactly this and they were great. Several of our neighbours have come knocking on our door to get their details because our front garden now looks so great! The man to speak to is Greig. They're quick, efficient and very tidy, and have lots of experience in renovating Victorian front gardens/ pathways around our area (SW17)

To manage costs with our Victorian Tiles after a lot of research we found that Topps Tiles did a cost effective range of Victorian tiles and they are pre-formed as pieces, sides and borders which means there is minimal cutting of tiles into shapes to fit and can also be laid in less than half the time so cuts down a lot of the labour costs. If your tradesman can buy the tiles for you they can get about a 20% trade discount too.

We have also used Martin from Abbey Driveways. They have just finished completely redoing our front path and restored some interior tiles - and we are delighted with their work. Very efficient, polite and friendly (and very competitive price). I would definitely recommend Martin and his team!

I've used Martin at abbey driveways (as have many on my street) and can vouch for his great work. No interest to declare!

We are wanting to do our pathway to our front door in those black and white Victorian tiles. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations of tradesmen to do this at a reasonable price.

Thank you in advance.
