Agree with Seb, I applaud the police initiative of telling local people what's going on locally.

I don't feel uncomfortable at all.

This is exactly the sort of news that would have appeared in local newspapers in the "old days" and bearing in mind no one reads those any more forums like this are the new way of getting that news out.

It's a sad story, I'm not saying it isn't, but I applaud the police for trying to protect us and for telling us what they're doing.

Blame mental health funding, blame the government, blame alcohol companies for pushing cheap beer but to blame the police who are looking out for us and for then telling us what they're doing seems a bit "dammed if they do, dammed if they don't..."

Does anyone else feel very uncomfortable about the local police publicising this particular individual's situation on NVN like this? I'd love to hear from the police also as to why this action has been taken, and yet we do not hear about the outcomes of other, arguably more serious, crimes and police investigations. The reference to what he was carrying when he was arrested seems particularly inappropriate for police to be confirming, and also slightly mocking of what many professionals might conclude is someone who needs help...

Hi

I feel I have to speak up for Terry here. I am not denying that he has some problems or questioning the decision of the authorities but there is another side to him. I have known him for a few years and have enjoyed chatting to him. He is an extremely talented artist.

Indeed. Prior to the CBO being issued he had similar court bail conditions imposed. He was even arrested in breach of them with a copy of the conditions in his back pocket!

Repeated breaches can result in a custodial sentence.

I have seen this man regularly for over ten years now in the Clapham South area and although he is usually drunk when I see him, he has never been abusive or offensive towards me and I usually just get a wave and a cheery "hello". It's such a shame that his alcohol abuse seems to have made his behaviour deteriorate and I really hope he manages to get help for it.

PC Shrestha from my team has put a lot of hard work in and managed to get a Criminal Behaviour Order against a man who was causing anti social behaviour in Balham.

Full story, inluding a picture and conditions of the order are on the Met's website behind this link.
