Responding to popular demand, Leiths have teamed up with creative oasis, Kite Studios to bring kids an action-packed week of inspiring cookery and art over August. www.leiths.com/kidskitchen

Open to children aged between 7 and 11, every day will be a different cooking and art experience. Cooking themes range from an Asian Banquet to American Bakes at Leiths; and art activities at Kite Studios feature pop art style sculpture, building 3D models, creating ‘the last supper’ and silk screen printing. The week concludes with the Mad Hatters Tea Party with Playing card sandwiches, Queen of Hearts Jam Tarts and Drink me! Pink lemonade! Children will take home their own framed etched print based on the party theme.

Camilla Schneideman, managing director at Leiths adds; “the holidays are a great time to develop skills that are not always catered for in schools, but most of all, kids need to be having fun. It occurred to me that cooking and art are so closely related. My kids love getting their hands dirty, and having something wonderful to show for it. It’s a win-win situation. With Kite Studios almost on our doorstep it seemed crazy not to partner up, and it means that this holiday club will have a unique quality, offering two different creative sessions in one day. We are expecting things to get messy around here, but once the kids realise they are cooking for themselves, they will throw their all into it.”

Whether joining for a day or the week, children will get messy in the kitchen, explore new techniques, and have some delicious and nutritious nibbles and a brilliant body of creative work to take home.
