I would highly recommend it for your older child .We used it on holiday and as a booster seat and it is easier to carry on a plane (as a backpack).

We have a Britax one with head and neck and quite a bit of side support. Probably worth having a look on Which, to be honest, and then seeing which best fit your car.

Apologies for hijacking, but Lemonzest what seat do you have? My daughter's just about to grow out of her toddler seat (Axiss) and we'd like to get something with head/neck support etc. Thanks so much!

We have one. I would only recommend it for short journeys (eg bringing playdates home, as you say; or short airport transfers). I take my full size car seat abroad for my 5yo, still, since the driving in the places we tend to go is worse than in London and/or we have a 2hr+ motorway drive.

Basically they don't provide any head/neck support, so this is obviously a consideration in the event of a crash; plus if the child falls asleep they will bend in half with nothing to hold them up!

They are good. If you are going on a long trip though they obviously don't have head rests so are harder to sleep in for example after a long flight... Another bonus is airlines including Ryanair often take a carseat for free in the hold and they have a bit of storage in the middle so you can fill it with liquids/ books if you only have carry on luggage.

I'm going to need car seats for a 3 year old and a 4 year old on an overseas holiday. I have checked the country's legislation and there is no requirement for them over 3 years old but I would prefer something.

Has anyone used the Trunki car seats and were you happy with them? I was also thinking I could use them for bringing play dates home.

Please could me give me your feedback on them or is there something else I should consider?
