Thanks for the reminder! Need to go there soon - we need to support these lovely independent places before another chain or estate agent moves in!

Had lunch at Lagu today.
The food was as delicious as ever, the service as attentive and the atmosphere as zen as ever since we had the place to ourselves!

Trying to revive this thread and hopefully renew some interest in this little hidden gem on Lavender hill.

LAGU is my favorite Japanese place to eat. As many of you said here, the quality of the food as well as the atmosphere they provide are all very authentically Japanese.

I come here when I need my Japanese fix.Home sickness can be healed instantly :) So lucky to have this here, as there's no need to go into central London. Highly approved by many of my Japanese friends and people who lived there.

My favourite is Salmon avocabo don, but I have to try other things as they recently expanded the menu.

It's near the Battersea Arts centre, and a bit far from the station. But it is worth the trip!

Thanks for the review. I walk past this place every morning on my school run and always think "That looks like a really nice place, I must go there sometime" but of course, you never do. I'm glad to see that it is open in the evenings and we'll definitely make a point of going.

We love it and it is very easy to be there with children. Stephanie

My husband and I went to Lagu after reading the recommendations here. They serve some of the best Japanese food I have had outside of Japan. Top quality and such friendly service!

oh, I am so glad that I am not the only one who notice this lovely Japanese Cafe on Lavender HIll. not only the meal they service are all very nice. but also the drinks. whoever love a good tea must try their Japanese rage. I tried their Genmai Tea, which is greentea with a smoky popcorn flavor. It is so good. I became the regular take away customer there on my lazy day that don't feel like to cook dinner. I usually buy two fried chicken with mixed grain rice which come with salad as well. Sweet chilly sauce for my partner and the original one for me!!! going there this Friday too.

Another vote for Lagu. I had an amazing lunch there this week. I went with a couple of friends (and 3 pushchairs). The place is very tastefully decorated and the owner is lovely. The food was delicious and as a previous poster said, very reasonnably priced. In short i will be coming back very soon (next week i think).
