I'd say name and shame those who don't turn up... at least then it gets out there and see if they can continue to afford to do no-shows when they get no calls!

That's why I personally use the services of a company. They care more about their reputation because the workers can be fired really easy if they don't do their jobs. I can recommend you someone if you need.

I'm convinced it's a priority issue.

At the time they really really mean to do the work. Then something else comes up.

But I know, it's SO annoying!

The no-shows are, of course, very annoying.

But what's with all the workmen who DO turn up to quote and then the quote never materialises?

It's a redecoration job - bog standard painting walls, ceilings, woodwork.

The last guy I was really surprised about. It's a whole house repaint. He was here ages, taking pictures on his phone, making notes. That was 3 weeks ago and nothing!

And it just seems to happen so often.
