And just to add (FaceFit aside, although it is a GORGEOUS experience and treatment) Elaine has managed to sort out my neck issues after numerous unsuccessful attemps elsewhere as well as my dry and lacklustre face! Bravo!!!

Was impressed with the Rosalena face experience with Elaine a couple of months ago as it was so much more than I expected from a facial. Friends recommended I try her deep tissue massage for my stiff old back and shoulders combined with a facial for my tired skin - out of this world !! Only downside is feeling a bit spaced (good) out after, so if you try this I recommend you give yourself a bit of time to recover and not straight into mummy mode. Well worth the wait

How nice of you to share something so personal. Really pleased that this was a positive experience for you. I too have felt very emotional after some treatments and I do feel it's that magic touch that makes all the difference even if it does undo Elaine's great work!! Well, temporarily, of course :P

After reading the posts about Elaine's treatment, felt the need to add my personal experience once again. Was feeling shattered after half term so opted for a longer treatment which was utterly fab as always (face and body revitalised) but was overcome with emotion at the end of the treatment and weirdly had a few tears when I was getting dressed. Wasn’t sure why at the time and didn’t want to delve into murky waters, but after a good night’s sleep, felt the best I had in years and realised how much pent up emotion I’ve been hanging onto lately, mainly about my son’s schooling. I’m not saying the treatment has performed miracles and/or changed my life, far from it, but it is interesting what comes up and how much you can let go of when you truly relax and feel safe.

Andrea1970 wrote:OMG!! My husband bought me an early anniversary present, a LaStone facial with Elaine at reCentre health in Balham (not sure if this is the same Elaine that Sid and Niz have mentioned in an earlier post in ‘me time?’) Anyway, it was so much more than just a facial as Elaine was interested in relieving the tension in my shoulders and neck as well as the muscles in my face. I was a bit unsure of the hot and cold stones at first but after 5 mins or so I simply melted and drifted away into the experience. The room was incredibly relaxing, almost like a hotel spa but much more intimate. Overall, the treatment was amazing as she really lifted and worked the muscles in my face. Wonderful to have my neck and shoulders eased as well. My skin glows and still does 3 days in! A nice surprise was a take home tailor made facial blend. Not sure of the cost as this was a gift but most definitely worth the experience.
As a newbie, not sure if I’m posting this in the right forum?

I'm risking becoming a serious post junkie for this subject!! Last incredible treatment with Elaine was 7 months ago and since then, tried a few others along NCote rd but nothing compares to this. Had one yesterday as I've been looking completely haggard (coping with teething toddlers) left feeling like a new woman. Glowing skin, neck and shoulders released and thankful for some wondeful tlc and me time. Elaine never fails to impress. How she smooths my lines away and gives my sunken cheeks some puff is pretty miraculous, well with me anyway! And it really does last as she gives great tips and a sample of whatever lovely oils shes used. My skin feels like silk today and I'm lifted and very happy!! TRY TRY TRY :D

Having tried tons of facials, including Dermatalogica, even Liz Earle's, this is a totally different treatment as Elaine not only treats the skin according to what it needs, but also gets into the tight muscles on your face. I have a lot of jaw tension from tooth grinding and neck and shoulder issues. It's the combination and her approach that is totally unique and every treatment is prescriptive. The deep tissue one releases tension all over the face, but particularly around the jaw and neck so it's definately worth it. She always consults and spends time planning a treatment so you go out feeling how YOU want and not doing a run of the mill facial from a menu. Plus she uses tons of different hot and cold stones on all those achey bits which feel INCREDIBLE. So in a nutshell, yep there's facials but these are....well....what can I say that the posts haven't?!!!

HIGHLY Highly recommend Elaine's Deep Facial massage treatment. After 3 sessions the tension in my face is no more and my jaw muscles don't ache in the morning at all plus I'm a much better tempered mum!!! TRY THIS TREATMENT. She gives you a some beautiful oil to use at home which I swear helps me sleep better as well as helping my spotty skin .

Just posted this again as I can't believe the difference!!

Hey loopyloo, me too with the loose jaw!! I've just had a few sessions (pretty intense but Elaine talks you through what she's doing) as I I'm a tooth grinder so I wake up with headaches cos I clamp down on that horrid plastic thingy I have to wear at night that my dentist in the States made up for me. What's amazing is since Elaine has worked and released my jaw muscles, and barring one after a treatment (tho she warned me), my headaches have eased and I swear my whole face and neck feel totally different. Another PLUS. But now I have to decide whether it's the facial or jaw treatment to go for!! What's a girl to do?!! :D

I've never experienced anything like this!! The treatment goes way beyond anything I can describe. Not only does your face get a workout (my jaw feels like it been unhinged and I didn't even know it was tight!) but my neck and shoulders feel like mine again. An extraordinary experience overall. I feel very nurtured, have glowy skin and have gone home with a lovely bottle of facial oil that Elaine made up for me.

Thanks to all you for posting about this. I'm SO SO happy to have found such an exceptional therapist at long last! :D

Yes it's definitely the answer! Elaine Tomkins created a warm fragrant cocoon for me to relax in and I really did completely relax... but chose not to go to sleep as I didn't want to miss out on any part of the gorgeous treatment! It was my first experience of hot and cold stones (as part of the facial) which Elaine uses so skilfully and intuitively ... I liked the contrast of temperature which is far more subtle than you can imagine. All truly delicious and so soothing. I did find myself thinking of a couple of close friends who would adore this treat... one has a significant birthday coming up in the New Year. As far as the worry about Elaine escaping north of the river goes ... there's no chance as we won't let her!!

I know I've said a lot about these treatments with Elaine, but goodness me I've now had THE ultimate in relaxation - a facial combined with a hot stone massage to my entire body. UNBELIEVABLE. So relieved that children were with their grandparents as I was in a (good) trance and managed to flop home. This happened last weekend as I snapped up the the special offer really quickly. It is expensive but to be honest, the time she spends with you and her expertise is quality beyond anything. She always makes up a facial oil (free) to take away and this time, my skin was super spotty/sensitive and I have to say, it's calmed down to the point where I'm not applying tons of concealer. Goodness me, what to do if she ever goes north of the river!!!
