I would second and negative views of Build London/Simply Loft/South London Lofts. These all seem to either be the same company or Simply subcontract out.
The salespeople for Simply were great, the price was very competitive, communication was prompt and clear, even the references checked out. Once we'd signed on the dotted line, Simply disappeared and Build London showed up. Then South London Lofts pitched their banner on our house.
Still, we thought we'd go with it. But it's turning into a nightmare. Communication is poor - our PM only shows up to collect cash but now won't correspond by phone and we're struggling to get them to even meet us on site. Our building project has gone wrong - they've built to the "wrong" plans even though Build London produced the only (ONLY) set of structural drawings and now they are trying to get us to pay more money to correct their mistakes.
I'll hold final judgement until after the issues have been talked through and any agreements made but I am simply (pardon the pun) not impressed.
That said, the builders on site seem like great guys and are amenable to making changes and the build work seems sound.
People said avoid D&B firms, but it's good to know if you're dealing with one firm or a mess of firms and individuals as we have ended up doing.
