Same here with our 2.5 years old. Our paediatrician recommended Dr Daya. Hearing tests and assessments were done very quickly and she was operated on within a month.
The improvements were spectacular - her speech and breathing improved radically within 10 days. It made a huge improvement to her wellbeing.
Good luck!

We are under the care of Ben Hartley and we have always been very happy. I had a very tricky time with Dr Daya but then I know people that think he is wonderful so I guess just a personality thing!

We saw Mr Elliot Benjamin, an ENT Surgeon at the Cromwell. You can have a hearing test done there too just before you see him. Great doctor, our daughter was 2.5 at the time and her speech was very delayed. She was 20% deaf in both ears and had glue ears as well. He put grommets in and her hearing is now perfect and has no glue ear. We are doing speech therapy now .

We had something very similar - we went to see Mr Daniel Tweedie at Parkside. He was wonderful. We were referred to the Portland for a hearing test (which our nearly 3 yr old thought was great fun). In our case, the problem lay with his tonsils - Mr Tweedie removed these at the Cromwell which instantly made a huge difference to his speech, his behaviour and his sleep. We also had some speech therapy (not private) which further helped his speech development.

Mr Tweedie had a very gentle bedside manner and is a lovely man - you can google him for more info.

Good luck!

Private hearing test or recommended ENT consultant

Hi - my daughter's nursery has identified some possible speech issues and suggested that she has her hearing tested as a starting point (she's just three). Her NHS referral is not until mid-November so I would like to get it done sooner. Can anyone recommend anywhere I can take her for a private hearing test or a good ENT consultant? Many thanks for your help.
