What kind of therapist are you looking for? If marriage therapist then Geoff Warburton is amazing! He's well known in the field & I'd see him if I could afford him (I am training to become a psychotherapist). There is also the awareness centre on Aberville rd. I recall finding heaps of therapists in clapham. And a lovely lady called Steph (she's based in dulwhich - stephwilshaw@hotmail.com) and she's very reasonable price wise.

But to be completely honest you need to find someone that suits you (as annoying as it sounds). Part of our training is to have min 40 h of therapy / year and they require that you go on "the journey of finding your therapist". I saw about 8 therapist and Sarah was the right one for me. A year later I still feel that way. Hope that helps.

Not having too much joy with the above recommendations.
Apparently, most of them have no slots available.
Any other recommendations would be appreciated. I am not quite ready to go cold calling therapists.
Might need the marriage counseling a lot quicker than I thought!!!

Otherwise look up ukcp http://members.psychotherapy.org.uk/findATherapist as a possibility. Also finding a therapist that you like and "click" with is a very personal personal thing. There is plenty of research out there that state that it's about the technique the therapist uses (i.e. psychodynamic) but the client-therapist relationship that results in improvement.

I have seen many therapists in and around Wandsworth both on the NHS and private for matters ranging from bereavement to anxiety etc. The best woman and the most helpful woman was Deirdre Gough. She is very easy to talk to, adapts her methods to how you are on the day you come, gives you "tools" for how to help yourself and generally made me feel much better and able to cope with things.
