We have just had our front garden wall replaced by a company called Bright Seasons. They were recommended by our neighbour, for whom they did a beautiful job of paving the front garden and side return. We are so happy with the work they did for us: fast work, a good price, very tidy, and they went to a lot of trouble to find the perfect bricks that matched our house (also at a good price!), and to ensure that we had the style we wanted. Decking - we’ve just used Sam from Shape again for some more work and once again we have been very happy.
I did mention this post and it’s always difficult if someone who is super busy with projects cannot drop everything to accommodate a potential client. As you are aware his project extended and he was unable to do what was required for you in your time frames.

Thank you for the recommendations and warning. To be honest, we are yet to find somebody! We contacted about 20 tradesmen/company and only managed to get one estimate so far. I had the following: 1. disappearing completely and not replying to call/messages, 2. asking me to email photos and measurements because they forgot to take any during site visit (!!) and 3. Cancelling a visit last minute because it was raining I can't believe people can be so unprofessional.

Please don't waste your time calling Sam from Shape Landscapes. He is one of the most unreliable tradesmen I've ever met. He did come to see the work I needed doing and promised he'd send a quote that night. He didn't. I chased for days and about a fortnight later he sent one, but then I couldn't get hold of him again for weeks. He eventually took my call when I rang from a different number (he'd obviously been screening his calls!) and promised he could do the work a fortnight later. But sadly he never confirmed the exact date, and my subsequent efforts to contact him have failed. I've now given up! If he hadn't really wanted to do the job, I'd rather he had just told me, rather than string me along. He showed not even basic manners or decency.
