These 'locksmith' villains are all over Clapham (Common). Have been for years ... but seem to be many more now. Their other trick, as a poster on this thread has warned, is to place something right in front of the door which will have to be moved in order to get into the house. Last week we found our porch doormat carefully rolled up into a tube shape! If we'd been away, & the doormat left like that for more than a day, it would have been an obvious sign that nobody was living in the house. Cue: break-in. If away, best to get a kind neighbour to watch the house & remove stickers, unfold doormats, etc.
