At our state school they tend to ask for around £5 voluntary contribution and any costs over an above that are met by the school.

Our school goes to Vauxhall city farm every year and they appear to charge £99 for a class of 30 kids...

Agreed. Theatre tends to be £10 although goes up to £20 with coach. It seems to be transport that adds the cost. Although i don't blame teachers for not wanting to take 30 kids on the tube!

Price will vary dependent on transport eg coach vs tube

Usually £5 to £10' but can be up to £20 for kidzania and theatre which I personally think is a lot. Definitely not subsidised by school. School also has companies coming in on a regular basis and we pay £5 ish for that.

I think we've paid between £5 and £10 in a voluntary contribution to trips usually. State school.

I'm interested in state school and Indy, what sort of price parents find acceptable, or what's the 'norm' for a day trip. I'm guessing state school trips are subsidised by the school, but maybe not these days.

I'm involved in a business looking to open up to school groups, but just not sure it's financially viable as I know money is tight for these things.

Tks x

At our school the day trips are included in the fees. Residential trips vary...

Hi Mums, just wanted to ask how much you pay for school trips? I'm thinking farm day out sort of thing where your children are led and taught as well as participating and exploring. I have no idea what is reasonable for this sort of thing and whether the school makes a contribution on top of what the parents pay.

Any parents or teachers who can advise, would be much appreciated. Tks x
