Hey there - such a difficult time for parents. Not sure what your child's needs are but I can't recommend Blossom House highly enough. Had to fight for her statement/EHCP to get there but she has just graduated after six wonderful years there and really did blossom. Specialist in language and communications and ASD as secondary need. My daughter also had mild Cerebral Palsy too. Looked at lots of schools in the process and thought Garratt Park was pretty good too and would be easier to get into as a state school.

Also received recommendations for Ricards Lodge in Merton and the Ark in Putney. However these are not from parents just friends who work in local education

Hi, we are also looking at secondary with good SENCO - we asked our current primary and they said Chestnut Grove had a good SENCO team and that a number of children that they had sent to Chestnut had done well at the school. Worth asking the SENCO at your daughter's current school.

Secondary school recommendations for a child with special educational needs

Hi, I am in need for recommendations for local secondary schools with a good, reliable and compassionate senco team for my daughter who will be transferring next year, but I have to submit our three chosen schools very shortly. I have already selected Saint Cecilias, which I was very impressed with. However I am unsure which other two schools to pick. Burntwood only have a part-time senco team, which i thought was quite odd considering the size of the school and the amount of pupils. Does anyone have any experience of Ashcroft or any other local secondary schools please? Many thanks
