I would recommend Ben (07973123535) from South West London Building Company LLP.
Ben and his team worked really hard to get everything right for us, and make sure we were happy. Ben is very approachable, trustworthy and always able to offer a solution to any problems that may arise on the way. His team work efficiently and carefully to get the job done to a very high standard at a very competitive price. In addition Ben lives locally and his team has re-done a high number of houses in NappyValley which gave us exra peace of mind.
We would recommend Ben to anyone without hesitation.

Hi SW11er,
So relieved you’ve decided to go for a reputable company rather than the cheapest quote. In my job as a project manager for a building company in SW we have often had to fix problems which arose from going with the cheapest quote.

My biggest recommendation would be to ensure that the waterproofing system used is of a reputable type. My company uses Delta membranes but I’m sure that there are many which would also do the job fantastically well. Another important point to remember is that the pumps which will be fitted need regular servicing. I remember seeing a post not too long ago about various companies that could do that for you.

Completely agree with you that having a basement with a nice ceiling height like the one you’ve mentioned is the way to go, so worth it! I’ve seen basements with amazing ceiling heights (3.5, even 4.5 metres) that provided great space to use like cinema room, playroom, tv room or even an office or a bedroom, rather than a pokey dark space and a total waste of a considerable amount of money.

Anyway, if you have any specific questions or just want to get a second opinion on something please feel free to contact me I’ll be happy to help. Good luck with your project!

We used Advantage Basements on East Hill as did a number of our neighbours. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Who are the most reputable basement companies for larger projects (they don't need to be the cheapest). I may need to go deeper ( minimum 2.5m room height) and further under the rear garden. I have also had a lot of work done on a rear extension meaning there is no longer a void as is normal for victorian houses - but a large concrete floor with underground heating.

I want to make sure I am getting a really good job done. Ideally by a larger firm, good track record, meaningful insurance etc.
