We moved to New Malden from Earlsfield 4 years ago and it was one of the best decisions of my life. Lovely close knit family community here, good schools, and a High Street with lots of gems that is evolving all the time. Easy commute, just over 20 mins to Waterloo. Highly recommend!

We have recently moved to Reigate. Great schools; beautiful park, nice community and lovely small town that has lots of similar shops you will find in the likes of Clapham/ Balham,
Carluccios, Wagamma’s , Sweaty Betty, m&s , Benefit, Whistles, (Oliver Bonus) is opening soon etc ... also there there is Everyman Cinema.

Most sort after primaries is Holmesdale (infant) Reigate Parish ,
Reigate Priory (junior school)

Negative is that the most of the trains are with Southern, so it is useful to live the Redhill side of Reigate which is walking distance which offers more train options . also had Thames link. Connections .

Also Earlswood is also next to reigate/ Redhill is nice . but has other train options and has a very good
Primary called St Johns . ( but catchment is v tiny):

We’ve been here for a year , it was a bit hard at first to adjust, but we are now very settled and are very pleased, we made the move.
Most of the residents on our road are ex Londoners

We moved to Harpenden in Hertfordshire and have since met many other families from Nappy Valley who have done the same. Most people choose Harpenden for the easy city commute, excellent state schools and village feel. I miss Balham terribly but we have a large house and garden, lovely friends, access to motorways and transport, fantastic schools and my kids love it here.

You could also look at St Albans, Berkhamstead, Guildford and Sevenoaks as we did.

Where to move to?

Hi all,
Looking for suggestions, we are looking to move out of Wandsworth (sadly) so we can afford a big family house but we are struggling on areas...
We’d love Wimbledon or Surbiton but houses are too pricey. We’ve looked at Thames Ditton, Ewell and Epsom. Does anyone know any other areas that are good for families to move to that are still commutable?
