To follow up on my post re: Bowloom and base.
We went with Bowloom in the end and I am so incredibly pleased that we did.
The price differential was less than 5% and for this we got the following.

The most beautifully fitted carpets, delivered on time, no fuss, no bother, flawless fitting and a perfect clean up.
Total flexibility on the fitting date. We messed them around terribly as we were booked pre- Christmas but our builder ran over, Paul had his guys fit 2 rooms only and then, FOR NO EXTRA COST, had them come bck the Sunday before Christmas to finish the job.
His guys cleared rooms, worked around my builders, just basically got the job done in the most pleasant way possible.
Then, they even saved enough off-cuts (their idea not mine) so that we could carpet our cellar steps for almost nothing at a later date.
The after sales service has been wonderful too, Paul has checked back in to confirm all ok and fixed a couple if snags - entirely not his responsibility to fix.
Can't recommend them highly enough.

I've used them twice - for gorgeous lush carpets and some vinyl for a bathroom, and more recently for cheap as chips carpet and vinyl (to make a house we've bought that's a wreck more liveable while we work out what to do with it). I think they're great, and their fitting is great too. Be honest about what you want and what you want to pay, and they'll help you along with the best choices (e.g. good underlay means you can have a slightly cheaper carpet but get much squiginess - which is a word I think I just made up - to walk on). They were also great at telling me what to avoid if you've got dog / kids etc. I went to them on recommendation from a friend, and would use them again. Good value and good fitting.

We are about to choose a carpet company and base flooring and carpets on cavendish road are coming up with a very competitive price.

They are a family run company and the guys in there are nice enough but definitely more the wheeler-dealer types vs say, Bowloom who were simply lovely.

I was wondering if anyone had used them and had any feedback pls?
Are they simply good value or cheap for a reason?
