Oliver House is a Catholic Preparatory School. Both our daughters are there and we absolutely love it. The school has only been going for around 6 years now, so it is indeed relatively new. That said the first full year of leavers all obtained places at their FIRST choice of school this this past academic year which is quite an achievement given the competition for secondary school places. This included academic scholarships to Dulwich College and Emmanuel School.
The school has a "Catholic Ethos", meaning you do not have to be Catholic to go there. The children say prayers in the morning and at the end of the day, and RE (Religious Education) is part of the carriculum.
It is a beautiful, very friendly and very caring school. They are very keen to nurture a love for learning and this really shines through. The children are all very polite and considerate.
Being one of the few fee paying Catholic schools in South West London it manages to attractts students from near and far. The school bus leaves from Sloane Square every morning, to give you an idea. (Although the majority of students live nearby).
There is a good mix of nationalities, just in my daughter's reception class we had French, Spanish, Italians, Aregntinian's, English, Ghanaian's, Irish, German's ..... Spanish is taught as a language from Reception onwards.
I cannot reccomend the school highly enough.
Definitely try and make it to the open day in October.
You will not see the school advertised in local magazines such as SW etc as they simply do not need to ..... places are quicky and easily filled !!!!
Hope this helps, and best of luck with your choice fo school .

Probably not terribly helpful but I have a friend with 2 children there who really likes the school, they have been there for a few years so definitely worth a look IMO.

It is a Catholic school btw.

Hi,

Oliver House has an open day in October 2011. They do not know when yet though. Having just moved to Clapham South I have contacted them as I also wanted to find out more. They were very friendly and replied quickly to my email. We will go to the open day and have a look.

So no real experience with Oliver House but I hope this helps anyway!

Does anyone know what this school is like? I know it's quite new, and small, but just wondered if anyone had any experience.
