I typically look at the site from my work computer.  I stopped using it so much because there now seems to be much more pink with the new site design + there are often adds for Women's Lingerie on the advertising banners on the home page.  Both not conducive to checking the site on a work computer with colleagues walking past ...

Glad you are making the changes. Please can things like nanny job ads be moved to their own section and not appear in the new posts section. They just clog up the whole feed and turn me off even logging on. I used to check the website all the time, but the sheer number of posts means I check the site a lot less regularly as a result.

Hi, me again, looking for dentists.

So the search function seems to have changed, but it just gives me single posts, not conversations.  I know there are longer conversations in the site somewhere as I have seen them before, but I can't see them in the search function.  Is it still being updated?

Thanks!

The search function no longer seems to work. The only results are newsletter results as opposed to users posts.

Hello, I was looking to reply to a post about French lessons for children in Tooting Bec but I am struggling to find it. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if the search feature isn't working fully. Thank you for updates.

This site has been suggested to me, by a number of friends but only just got around to joining. Looks like I shall have my work cut out, reading all the posts/subjects, that interest me and the family.

Hi jafina,

Thank you for your post, we have updated the search function and we have addresses the issue you were having with searching.

We have also made some improvements aimed at making image uploading easier and simpler when posting and new conversation or replying.

Kind Regards

Hello,

I must be missing something but I am struggling to figure out how the new search function works.  I want to find some posts about local dentists but when I search 'dentist' or 'recommend dentist' or 'local dentist' all I get is a long series of results that don't seem to have anything to do with dentists.  The top ones are about the Northcote Fete and Film Stars.

Please help!

Hi Everyone,

The team has been working on some updates and fixes that have now been added to the site!

As you will see one of the most significant updates is the new text editor adding comments, we have also fixed the bug with adding images to posts!

We have also been taken into consideration comments regarding the mobile site and search functionality.
The search box available in the header of the website now allows one global search, instead of the two search options that was previously available.

We have also added a quick reply / start conversation button to the top of the page on mobile to make posting easier.

We have more updates coming soon!

Making it compatible with a mobile forum reader like Tapatalk would make it much much easier to use/navigate on a mobile.

How can I find an old topic that was discussed? Or where is the "Most read" section? I need to find the sofa recommendations!

Thanks Annsw80 and Pud1

for the thumbs up and positive feedback

Re ads its a tricky one. On the old site everything was very small on mobile so we had to change it. Ironically one of our motivations was to make the text for conversations stand out more but to do that we had to move the ads from the sides.

I think we probably got a little over excited re the new ad format and are working on both spreading them out so that they are less intrusive and changing a little more slowly ... we do however love our partners, almost all very local businesses and they help us provide the service that we offer.

Please keep the ideas and feedback coming, it's a great help :)

Thank you

Annabel xx
