Hello ! My 6-month old daughter has just started nursery and the price at kids unlimited is around £1400 per month for 5 days per week. I think most nurseries in the neighbourhood have roughly the same cost for a full time care. I booked the nursery when I was 6 month pregnant. Hope this helps ! Good luck :)

We pay £600 for two full days at a nursery in Battersea, that is open 7 -7 daily. I think this is quite average.

Good luck

Thanks all for your replies - I have been on the nursery websites to find out fees where possible, but many of them do not list them. I don't want to contact anyone at the moment, because London is a very "small world" and I am sure somehow or another work would find out I was pregnant!

First, congratulations on your pregnancy! :)

Regarding the fees for childcare, I can only speak about nursery (never been the nanny’s route).
Fees are not a secret; they are usually available on the nurseries websites for most of them or just give the nursery a call to receive a brochure.

For example, Northcote nursery is £363 per week for babies between 1 and 2 yo.
http://gardenschildcare.co.uk/#/fees/4535673482

Have a look at the website for Northcote Gardens, Baby Room… and it will give you an idea of the (massive :o ) cost.

As mentioned by someone already, start looking asap.
For example, the owner of the Northcote Gardens nursery told us that to have a full time place, you would need to register your child asap BEFORE birth - ideally just after the 12weeks mark or even before...

And while you are out looking at nursery, maybe also start looking at primary schools (if you want a place in a private one) – they tend to register from birth and will be full very quickly!
(I know – it is scary and crazy… )

Good luck!

and for a full time live in nanny u would pay 350pw (net) (working upto 12 hours a day) and around £400 -450 a week for live out working usually around 10 hours a day sometimes longer hours negotiable.

There are many agencies in this area to talk to i.e abbeville nannies, nappy valley nannies are lovely, very informative, wow bespoke nannies etc you can discuss ur options see what childcare solution is best for you, costs etc, hours u need and so on and then decide nursery or nanny works best for ur needs

:)

My advice is to put there name down early when you have finally decided as some nursery's have huge waitlist especially for the younger ones in this area. Enjoy the pregnancy.

Hi
For 2 days a week i pay £570.00 per month, i have 10% discount for my second for the same 2 days which brings a total cost at roughly £1,000.00.
Hope that helps.

Hello

Just found out that I am 5 weeks pregnant with my first baby. Very excited indeed. I am trying to find out roughly how much childcare costs for a 6 month old full time for when I go back to work. I appreciate that is a long time away, but any rough numbers anyone has would be great.
