Noise is a factor, unless it’s kept in your car. We have an electric cool box but have to switch it off at night. We only really use it for wine, beer, butter and bacon. Make sure whatever you get, it can take a bottle of wine standing up - priorities! 😁
For places to buy, have a look online at Towsure as well as all the usual places.

I'd say so yes.
We've been camping for a few years now and although we started out with just a cool box and ice packs regularly re-frozen from the main campsite freezer, we now allow ourselves the luxury of going on the electric line and just keeping everything in a mini fridge.
Don't buy a cheap one though.. unless it is on sale.. or you will need to switch it off every night when you go to sleep. Most have an Eco mode that once it is cold you switch over to and you'll hardly hear it.
It's so handy to just keep milk, butter and basics cold.
Enjoy your camping trip, we got everything wrong on our first holiday but still had a wonderful time. I think a lot of it is down to where you are camping and whether the kids have other kids to play with. Oh... and the weather!!! :D

When I was camping with my friends and family we used a mini-fridge and it was very useful.

We have an Outwell camping fridge and it is excellent. You have to keep them charged up using the car battery of course but it does the job. They take up alot of space but good if you're not really near shops or even wild camping. Good for the evening gin and tonic too  ;)

We've used cool boxes with ice packs without problems, even in the summer.

We're newbie campers needing some advice - we went camping last summer but it was a bit of a disaster (for one reason or another!) but friends have tempted us to give it another go.

I'm thinking about getting one of those mini fridges so that I can keep a couple of bits cool ie milk, bit of bacon - not a huge amount, obviously.

this argos have a 4litre one for £13 and a 6 litre one for £20, but the reviews say they are quite noisy.

Do any of you experienced campers have any advice? Should I bother buying one? I know it's best to use tinned and packet food generally, so it would only be to keep a couple of things cool for breakfast.
