Ikea sells an inflatable cushion that fits the antilop chair and helps prevent tiny baby to fall back.
It costs £5 and it is easy to keep clean.

Completely agree about the IKEA one. I was all for getting a bloom or another similar kind that costs well over 200 quid but a friend begged me not to do that because that's exactly what she had done and regretted it. She later bought an IKEA one on holiday & found it was 100 times easier to clean, use, stack than her original one. It's the best top tip I was given - it cost 15 quid and is still good as new. Can't recommend it highly enough. The only teeny tiny thing with it is that when babies are first in them, they feel a bit like they're rattling around in there because it's all plastic and they're not good at holding themselves up. i just stuck a cushion in with my son to prop him up. That really doesn't last long though.

Tripp trapp

I am a trip trapp addict! Still using the 2 we have for each daughters everyday...
My older sister whose children are 12 year old twin and a 10 year have a trip trapp for each and they still use it everyday for their homework. We like the fact that children are obliged to sit straight in these chairs hence a very good back position.

I also recommend the Ikea highchair.
Super easy to assemble, super easy to clean (no cranny for the fruit puree to go and hide!) and, cherry on top, super cheap! :)
Our daughter is 2 and half and it still looks like new.
We now have remove the tray and it fits prefectly to the familly table.
One of our best buy! :lol:

I have a Brio, a bit like Trip Traps I think, but my daughter who is 3 is still using hers every day, without the bar across, as a chair which brings her level with our table. Have definitely got my money's worth with this chair.

I would go for the Ikea Antilop, with tray, every time. Cheap, comfortable, very easy to clean. You can even put the tray in the dishwasher if you want to give it a real deep clean. Very light so you can easily move it outside in nice weather. Hose it down if necessary! Legs come off so it's quite easy to take for weekends away. We got one on ebay and one for Granny's house on Freecycle, more to avoid a trip to Ikea than for financial reasons, as they are pretty cheap anyway.
We were given a Trip Trap by my brother and my son, being of quite a rotund build, didn't fit in it with the bar on. I know of a few others who have had the same problem. Maybe it will be useful as he gets older and uses it as a higher chair to eat at the table rather than a highchair.

The tripp trapp because the height adjusts, my eldest daughter sits up straight and well in it and it is quite discreet having it tucked under the table. Also nice having her sit right up at the table when we are eating together. She is now 4 and still sits on it but without the bar and back support. It's a great height for her and very comfortable which is great becuase she likes to sit at the table for ages drawing or doing play doh etc
Although not the cheapest, been great value for money and the wood still looks new 4 years on.

The Ikea one because it is light and movable, the legs and tray clip off and very easy to take out to friends' houses. We had it as an extra and although I always intended to buy a second trip trap for my second daughter, we have ended up using this and she sits very well in it and the tray doesn't protrude out too far like some of the semi circle shape ones. You can also buy a foam type insert for back support.

If I had to choose - think it would be the Tripp Trapp because of the longevity but the Ikea one is a very close second!

It really depends how much space you've got and how much money you want to spend. Tripp Trapps are great, but expensive. Ikea do some good cheap options. I wanted one that fitted on one of our existing chairs so that it didn't take up any additional space in our kitchen and found this one which we think is great - very few that fit onto chairs have their own table, but this does. It also folds flat so is good for taking to the grandparents and turns into a booster seat with 3 different heights - so can be used at different tables. Whatever you pick make sure it's very easy to clean!

Does anyone have any recommendations for highchairs? We are just starting the weaning process so have some time but just seem to look through pages and pages of them on the internet!! Thanks in advance
