We stayed in the Melia ( directly behind notre dam) - fab location, a bit more for the hotel but you can walk to almost everything or if you’re lazy get an Uber :) there’s a fabulous cafe near by with the most amazing crossaints (one covered in the must do blogs!) and close by to fun restaurants etc x

You didn’t say if you prefer right or left bank . I stay at the Duc St Simon on the left bank right off the Boulevard St Germain . The neighbourhood is safe and beautiful and close to all things touristy without being so . The rooms are small but very nicely decorated in a traditional Pierre Frey type decor - lots of toile .I know Paris very well and wouldn’t be comfortable staying in some of the neighbourhoods suggested below - visiting yes but actually staying no .
It is also a few minutes walk from the Metro, wonderful cafes that are steeped in history , museums - well frankly everything . I’ve stayed there for over 40 years - and prefer it to the 5 star hotels , I used to be put up in gratis when going to the ready to wear shows .

It’s a little jewel .

Google the hotel they have a website and speak really good English if you need them too .

We ended up staying at the Excelsior in the Latin Quarter which was perfect for us.
Great location. Walked everywhere.
3 stops from Gard du Nord via the metro so easy to get straight to after the Eurostar train trip.
Can definitely recommend.

I've stayed at the Hotel des Arts in Montmartre. It's nothing flash, but a great location on a hill in Montmartre, surrounded by little shops, bars, cafes and restaurants and a few minutes walk to the metro or bus. It looks like they've redecorated since I was there!

I have several recommendations for Paris on my blog but given your criteria, I would advise Hotel Breguet.  It's near Bastille so lots to do and see, easy walk to Le Marais and has a pool, a good restaurant and nice rooms. You can read my review here

Auteuil Tour Eiffel - the hotel is near the grocery, restaurants, easy access with transport and most of all at the tourist spots.

Recently stayed at the Bachamount. It’s in great location and a very nice 4 stars.

Also heard the Hoxton is very good, around the same price range.

Have fun!

I've stayed at the Mob Hotel in Paris twice -  https://www.mobhotel.com/paris_en/ and I love it.

It has a very bohemian, relaxed vibe. The bedrooms are small, but adequate, clean and modern. The beds are super comfy, there are some shadow puppets you can use on the wall, a mobile phone to make free calls and gorgeous shower gel /shampoo in the bathrooms in refillable bottles. The food is local and organic and the breakfast is delicious.

This place is very much for the more sustainably minded guests.

The downstairs dining area and outside space are great for just hanging out and local families (not staying in the hotel) come for dinner and events there too.

It is in a Northern suburb of Paris, L'Ouen where all the furniture flea markets are - well worth a visit if the weather is nice and you fancy a walk. Otherwise, it only takes about 10 minutes on the metro to get to central Paris. The metro is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

I'd liken the area to Shoreditch in London - it's a bit further out but very cool and edgy.

I haven't taken my kids yet but I've seen many kids there. Plus the rooms are very decently priced.

Hotel in Paris

I am taking my 2 dd's to paris soon (ages 13 and 11) and I wondered if anyone had any hotel suggestions? Thinking  4 star if possible. It is a minefield out there in terms of hotels and would welcome suggestions rather than randomly picking one out on the internet! Thank you.
