We have a son in BB sixth form, a daughter about to enter (having completed GCSE’s there) and a son in year 9. I can only very wholeheartedly recommend the sixth form. The attention to the student’s needs is outstanding ; every child is nurtured and huge care and focus given to their performance and helping them achieve their best, led by the outstanding head of sixth form.
Distance learning was very impressive; Zoom lessons we’re in place from the outset of lockdown and continued throughout. Results seem to be good with kids having places this year and last from excellent universities.
In terms of extracurricular, the music provision is tremendous (and a lot of fun). Sport however seems to be less of a feature in sixth form but that may not be the case for all. But focus of the school is more on academics.
Definitely strongly recommend.

Hi, my son has been offered a place in 6th form at Bolingbroke Academy to study maths , physics and com science. Wanted to know about school - any info great but particularly interested in teaching quality and general life of kids doing A levels there - sports / socials / trips / extracurricular activities etc etc. Thanks

The uniform sale is organised in July in the school hall.
I went to the shop in Bethnal Green once and you can also shop online. The only items you can get from supermarkets are shirts and trousers (grey ones) and don’t buy the winter coat, children can wear their own.
The Parents association also organise a second hand uniform sale regularly.

Also for running mummy, I can only praise you the school in many ways. Leadership, Pastoral care, teachers communication, Music department, and lately how the school responded to to the coronavirus crisis.

Please could somebody let me know about the uniform policy? Shirts and trousers, do they need to be bought from their school uniform shop or could I pick them up from a supermarket? Thank you

Bolingbroke was horrendous for us. Only attend if your child is incredibly focused and enjoys a regimental approach to life and school and is fairly popular with peers as the bullying policy is atrocious. Not particularly helpful and the communication between staff is non existent, pastoral care non existent and the SEN is too busy teaching to make a difference to the children that may require the time. I have friends that have children there and are ok and some like me that have removed their children for varying reasons but it mainly comes down to their lack of flexibility and regimental approach.

I don't have children at the school but have two good friends who have their children there and only have good things to say. One has two children at Bolingbroke and another at a fee paying school (sports scholarship) and has been very happy. The other has a son there and has mentioned that it is very structured, occasionally strict but that seems to work for her son and their results are really good. Not sure about sport facilities if those are important?

I'm thinking of sending my children to the school. I would welcome any feedback from parents with children at the school.
