I think I saw on Twitter or the local OneWandsworth facebook group that some of these planters will be replaced by lockable barriers, part of some "teething problems" Wandsworth Council call it.
Teething problems! It's clear that the Council had not thought about this at all with their LTNs, and TfL had not considered the A24 as a main emergency services route, particularly ambulances to St George's. And they decided to run them all together.
Precious minutes will be lost while a fireman jumps out, unlocks barrier, engine goes through, lock barrier up again!!!! I despair.
Keep emailing and filling in the various consultations please everyone, whatever your feelings are.
