From my experience, you could save maybe £10-£15,000 being the contractor yourself and hiring out the parts that you cant do.  I.E. most can lay a tile floor but most cant redo plumbing to a proper standard.  When I redo my master bath I'll put in the glass around the shower myself but I'll hire someone to redo the actual shower. There is a high-profit margin locked into that £25,000 quote but if it's worth it to you to not worry then £25,000 won't mess up your life.

Heya!

Worth looking at APT Renovation Ltd, they amazing and as far as I know they have a in house bespoke joinery and when we did our build everything was super luxurious and professional. Highly recommend them.

Good luck with the build :D

Kindest,
Ruth

I have used a very good builder on three occasions (I also later found out he did the kitchen in my current house before I bought it). That too is an excellent job
Jeff Dekor on 07766341601 ... I talk to him on WhatsApp.

Thanks to you both. We're less concerned about adding value to the home. We recently purchased it and intend it to be our "forever" home (whatever that means anymore) so it's more about having the bathrooms we want for the foreseeable future.

I suggest you contact Vijay (07946753918). Such a nice person who is working with many Italian suppliers so can provide quote for all budgets. Overall we have been really pleased with his advice, the quality of the appliances and the professionalism of his builders. We would highly recommend him.

What's your budget? Bathrooms at source is in a reasonable price range: not too cheap like Victoria Plumbing, but not as expensive as CP Hart or West One Bathroom. Unlike the others, it also has its fitters, which I think is good if you don't have a builder you trust (so you don't have builder and shop blaming each other).

If instead you are looking for an architect / designer that designs everything from scratch, shows you 3D renderings etc, then I'm afraid I wouldn't know anyone to recommend.

My two cents is that spending too much on a kitchen or a bathroom doesn't increase the value of a house, so you should do it if you like it, not in the expectation you'll get the money back if you ever sell the property. If you spend £30k on a bathroom when £10k could have got you a very nice one, I doubt you'll ever recover the extra £20k.

Hello, I'm looking for recommendations for a contractor/designer for two full bathroom renovations. We want something very high quality, traditional design rather than contemporary, and at least for one bathroom that is for our daughter, pretty hard-wearing. Willing to pay for something that is high quality and will last. I'm overwhelmed by the sea of options. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
