Many congratulations.  I have also attended The Fetal Medical Centre and they were very good.  I would also highly recommend Lorraine Jordan at The Women's Ultrasound Centre - super professional and very experienced. I saw her at Parkside in Wimbledon on many occasions.

We have been to heybaby4d in wandsworth - it feels a little rough and ready, but the sonographers were all really nice and made us feel comfortable, and it did the job.

i've been to the fetal medical centre, private ultrasound (1 harley st) and heybaby4d.  i didn't have a great experience at heybaby4d (they raised potential issues that a subsequent sonographer said were non-issues and also only did an abdominal scan at 6w4d, when tbh you need to have an internal one then to see things properly and i found the sonographer a bit overfamiliar as well).  i really liked private ultrasound and they gave me the best images.  i went to the fetal medical centre for my harmony test and they were great, but the images they gave me were not as good!

The Fetal Medical Centre on Harley Street is where I was recommended by Chelsea Westminster hospital - very thorough and you can schedule a few to fill the long gaps on NHS scans.

I used https://wandsworth.heybaby4d.co.uk and they were wonderful.

I did go a bit early (baby was conceived a week then my estimated dates) which meant there was no heart-beat when we first went which was very distressing for me. They were lovely and told me to come back 2 weeks later and all was well - I'm in my 7 month of pregnancy now. I've also since gone back for a 4D scan.

I would say do it but play it safe on the 8 weeks and maybe wait until week 9 if you can to avoid issues like I had x

Thanks both for the suggestion!

I think we’re booking for our scan there next week, fingers crossed all is okay.

We also went here. Thought it was a very good place

Early pregnancy scans

by Temple93 » Mon Dec 14, 2020 8:21 am

Hi all,

We’ve just found out we’re pregnant after a year of trying, we’d just started the process of having investigations then we got our little surprise!
We were looking into having an early pregnancy scan at around 8 weeks, to bridge the gap between now and our first NHS scan.
Is this something that you recommend? Advise against? Or any suggestions of where to go for it?
We live just off northcote road - more local the better!

Thanks 😊
