A recommendation here for Jaips Rekhi (07826 101718).

Based on the good feedback on him from this site, my wife and I recently got in touch with him to kick the tyres on our financial planning. We had never used a financial adviser before and he was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and was very much focused on our financial planning rather than pushing us towards any particular product. He gave us some very good ideas and we definitely plan to use him again. Also very useful that his is also a local dad (Balham) so he has a good understanding of the financial priorities and objectives of families like ours.

Hi Carrie
I can whole heartedly recommend my IFA Catherine, she is super smart, incredibly qualified and importantly is a lovely person. She has worked wonders with my financial situation.

hello,

In part it depends on what you are looking for. Many will use lifetime cashflow modelling to plan for retirement, some are specialised in tax avoidance, some will offer various levels of service priced differently (for example you could consolidate pensions & start investing, without paying for full financial advice).

I found the Meaningful Money Podcast really helpful as a way to understand what I needed and what I was paying for. You don't need to listen to all of them, but if you pick the relevant "ultimate guides" they are very helpful and understandable, even to a novice.

I'm with EQ Investors and find them very good. Their fees are transparent and competitive, and they offer fully screened ESG portfolios. My investments with them have performed well and I'm much happier knowing that I'm not funding fossil fuels, tobacco firms, arms firms or many other industries that contribute to harming people or planet, which are standard with almost all investment portfolios. They are a B Corp, and are staff owned. I went to them after years with one that I didn't really like, and meeting with numerous others.

I also really like The Path, for similar reasons.

Both of these options will give you good financial advise, and the chance to invest in positive portfolios.

The Make My Money Matter org is also very helpful.

Good luck!

I would recommend QI financial solutions. They have three advisers who are all chartered and two of them live locally (Tooting and Dulwich).

Being chartered means that they have the highest level of financial qualifications and their fees are a lot less than most other advisers from what I can tell.

Their number is 02086553322

I would not hesitate to recommend Paul Stewart from Finura Partners. His offices are in the City, but he lives locally. He starts with modelling to pinpoint what you want/need; very knowledgeable and intelligent.

Hello

I'd be very grateful for any independent financial adviser recommendations. I'm not really sure where to start with searching online and would prefer to go with a recommendation.

Many thanks!
