Hi, There is a place on the south coast at Littlehampton, called Rustington, which offers respite after operations etc. While it is mainly used by elderly people, it does have younger people also who are recovering from operations or illness. My mother-in law went there after a hip operation and was really impressed by the accommodation, food and service. It's right by the sea so walking out in the sea air is a bonus too.

Respite care for daughter

by Timedbooks » Fri Aug 27, 2021 9:41 pm

A good friend of mine is looking for a private rehabilitation centre or hospital to give her daughter some respite. Her daughter has acute pancreatitus, is in and out of hospital, and has not been able to work for the last year.  She is now very depressed, completely exhausted and the daughter’s fiancée is on the brink of a breakdown with all the care and worry.  The situation is grim.  Mum is looking for somewhere that has medical, physical therapy, mental and emotional support and some holistic care.  So far she has found Wellington hospital and would really appreciate any ideas or suggestions of other places or groups of hospitals that she could consider.

One other suggestion was to check out what the private health care providers might offer.

Your help would be very much appreciated.
