FINAL FRIDAY CAMP UPDATE: Strictly Come Juniors Tennis Camp - Clapham Common (Feb. Half-Term)

Well, three of us got out there on Clapham Common tennis-courts for usual and final day of tennis-camp at 10am, despite dire red-warning wind from storm Eunice battering Britain and London.

This was LineBall Tennis's principal coach at Clapham court Krishna's messages to an enquiry about tennis-camp going ahead this morning Friday with stormy winds:

At 10.10 there was a little drizzle, then thereafter a rainbow! seen above unloved bowling-green pavillion with Lucus in picture.

Tennis coach and campers then preceeded with close-work "intimate" tennis training. Then almost exactly to  one hour later we felt wind-swept or shaken by a ferocious lasting gust of wind estimated 50-60 mph.

Krishna Lucus Clio and brother then witnessed and rushed to a nearby old silver birch tree falling at 11.11am (my Friends of Clapham Common can validate tree-type!). The tree damaged the pavement railing as well as the tennis-court fencing:

It is hoped there will be feedback to LineBall Tennis adventure-update at Strictly Come...

And indeed we are taking bookings for next Strictly Come Juniors Tennis Camp in Easter school holidays in April 2022. Also, contact LineBall for adults wanting private and group lessons. Please email: Krishna at  lineball@talktalk.net in the first instance.

AT ALL TIMES ALL TENNIS JUNIORS WERE RISK-MINIMISED IN RED-WARNING WINDS BY KEEPING WITHIN BOUNDS OF "CAGED" PROTECTION OPEN SPACE COURTS (as in above picture).

UPDATE: Strictly Come Juniors Tennis Camp - Clapham Common

Camp started TODAY with ONLY three local juniors for the morning session set aside for ages 4-9 year olds. Class size of 3 enabled a private group and conducive to a more personalised teaching - which shall remain a secret!

The three started by clearing court-3 mini-court / service boxes of the multitude of worms the rains and the weather conspired to bring to the surface. We spent a fair bit of time with concern for environment and other life:

Thomas age 8 was strarted squashing the worms, but the twin sisters aged 7 Amelua and Lara, and coach Krishna persuaded Thomas of the vital function for soil and environment, Also, the mess they would leave behind if we simply killed the worms was a factor.

After then we got down to business of practising tennis, as the three weren already attending weekly group lessons with coach Krishna, and LineBall Tennis - Clapham Common.
