As a follow up - yesterday the lorry came round at 08.00. This resulted in a long queue of cars behind the lorry and drivers tooting their horns and shouting at the bin men to move over and let them go past. Totally unreasonable - and probably why they prefer to do it early.

They do wake me up - but it doesn’t bother me. I tend to just think ‘that is a tough job’. I think trying to get it done before the traffic builds up makes sense. Let’s just hope the change to Labour doesn’t mess the whole thing up.

I wouldn’t worry too much if you’re in Wandsworth. Now Labour will be taking over the council you’ll be grateful for any collections, regardless of the time (spoken as a Lambeth resident)

Ooo that‘s v unreasonable. We get cross with the road cleaner who comes down our road earlyish (8…) on a weekend but our rubbish collection is thankfully the more human time of about 9.30.
Best of luck..

Despite constant requests not to collect rubbish from a residential street before 7.00 am, Veolia continue to collect at 5.30 am. Such early collections in a residential street are clearly inappropriate and such noise disturbance presumably unlawful.

This has been going on for four years and despite their customer services assurances otherwise, the situation has not changed.

Have you had a similar problem? Do you have any suggestions as to how to get through to them - the name and contact details of a senior person, perhaps?

Thanks
