Hi there,

I can’t seem to find any more recent information about this - if it’s been happening, where it starts, etc. Does anyone know if this is still going on?

(The link in the original post is to the Tooting parkrun, and there is no pin on Battersea Park on the parkrun website map)

Thank you so much! :)

Junior Parkrun is coming to Battersea Park with weekly runs starting on Sunday January 8, 2023.

Junior Parkrun is a free and fun event for children aged between four and 14.

Parkruns are held at locations all over the country and parents can join their children on the £2k run if they wish. There is already a weekly Sunday Junior Parkrun on Tooting Common. Children can run, walk or jog along the route.

The aim is to get children active and involved rather than making them compete. Cabinet member for the environment Cllr Judi Gasser said: “Parkrun is a fantastic way for young people to get out, meet others and get some exercise.

“We know our parks are really valued by our residents and we want to ensure that everybody has an opportunity to enjoy them and use them to look after their mental and physical health.”

There is a weekly Saturday parkrun on Tooting Common for adult runners. Find out more.  The council is also looking into introducing an adult parkrun in Battersea Park.
