UPDATE: I forgot to update this thread before now to advise that the playbooks, stickers etc were taken off my hands by an interested party not on NappyValleyNet.

Shalsea wrote: Mon Jul 12, 2021 5:50 pm Hello All

This thread reminded me that I have some children’s German activity sticker playbooks that are a fantastic learning tool about the ocean and marine life.

The booklets (see the attached photo) and stickers were produced by a popular Swiss grocery retailer in conjunction with the WWF some years ago. I recall this promotion being very successful at the time with both children and adults alike.

They were given to me by a friend to either hopefully distribute (or sadly, dispose of if no takers) when I returned to the UK from Zurich, Switzerland.

She thought it might be a fun way for helping younger age children here maintain their German whilst learning about the ocean and all the different fish that live in the sea.

If anyone is interested, please let me know.

Everything ie the books, assorted stickers (some of which require 3D eyewear to be viewed in all their glory) and said 3D eyewear are easily transportable and are contained in one supermarket large reusable carrying bag.

Hi - restarting this thread also! My son is a year old and I’m trying to bring him up as bilingual English German (same as me) so I’d welcome info on German playgroups or meet ups to keep up the momentum. Similar to the original poster, not sure where to start other than approaching fellow Germans at the playground 😂

Hi, is this group still active? I live in the area and would love more German play groups and resources for my kids.

If you are looking for something more formal, there's the German kindergarten in Herne Hill https://www.germankindergarten.co.uk/hernehill (two sites, one near Herne Hill station and the other one near North Dulwich station).

Judith Kerr primary school in Herne Hill might also be able to signpost you to local German-speaking family activities. https://www.jkps-cfbt.org/friends-judit ... ry-school/

Hi KKauschi,

Would love to be added to the group as well. I don’t seem to be able to PM you directly. Please let me know how to get in touch.

Thank you! :-)

Hi,

Vicky runs amazing German playgroups and classes for kids in Clapham that our 3 yr old has attended last term. They are now on summer break but worth checking out for the autumn term: abc-german

Ping me directly if any further questions.

Hi. Evelyn started a WhatsApp group a year ago with now more than 30 German mums in Tooting Bec/Balham/Southfields/Earlsfield. We meet occassionally, exchange German books and more. If you are not part of the group yet, ping me a note and we'll add you.

German speaking activities/meetup

Hello! I’m new here. After being away in Austria for 6yrs, we just moved (back) to London a week ago. We have a 3yo daughter who’s trilingual (for now…) and I’m keen to do what I can to maintain her German. Are there any local German play groups or activities suitable for an adventurous 3yo that you know of? I don’t know where to start to find that sort of thing… thank you!
