Sounds amazing actually. We didn't see it due to covid restrictions. I suppose I thought if not boarding it could be a long journey but I suppose fro CJ station of you're near it, its not as bad at all.

Loads of girls round here go to Woldingham. In fact at my son’s prep school quite a few girls went there but none went to S and C. I’m not sure why that is - but Woldingham is very accessible from here by train (the station is in the school’s grounds) and although I’ve not seen it, apparently it has acres of beautiful grounds. It also has flexi boarding which some may want.

The head of Woldingham (I’m not a parent there but have friends with kids there) definitely seems to be steering it in a more catholic direction. That is in terms of the curriculum and the teachers. That doesn’t I don’t think mean you won’t get a place if you’re not catholic but there may be certain things your daughter learns which if you are not catholic may raise some eyebrows. On the other hand if you are worried about some of the stories coming out about sex education in other schools then you probably have nothing to worry about!! The girls I know there all seem happy.

I am just wondering in what way the head at
W is more on the catholic side . Can you please explain a bit more . I am just curious, are you more likely to get a place at the school if you are catholic ?

Hi,
My daughter is now in Yr10 at Streatham and Clapham and absolutely love it! Academically they seem to get the best out of pupils without pushing them too hard. Socially it's amazing and my daughter couldn't be happier. Friends are local! School is relatively small so everyone knows each other which also helps when they get set for the various subjects. Can't fault the sport either. My daughter has got into rowing at the school and has 4 sessions a week, land and on water. They participate in loads of Regattas throughout the year, irrelevant of ability.
So yes, it's a great choice of school!

S&C has been headless for a while which has left some unhappy

W's new head seems to be steering the school in a more Catholic direction

Big difference in fees
Are the W grounds worth the commute?

My daughter's go to Streatham and Clapham school and they absolutely love it. Academically they have been pushed to the best they can be and the pastoral care has been amazing.  A new head is joining in September and that will perhaps be a significant change.
