I noticed this overtone too.

Delivery drivers can be self-employed, but the fact is that businesses that make or receive deliveries have obligations. This has been confirmed by Dept Transport and HSE.

The businesses that the courier visits, as part of their work, are obliged to allow them easy access to toilets and hand washing facilities.

@readystopcook

I knew l would not need to be online too long on a Monday morning for a piece of casual racism. Watched a fascinating film last night...Loving (2016) l suggest that you don't watch it. You won't enjoy it.

The override? Pales into insignificance compared with 20%+ children living in poverty in London, Michelle More, Hancock, Thames Water abuses, NHS waiting lists, Ukraine etc etc but if that is the biggest problem in your life, I'm pleased for you.

" Delivery drivers should be given a dedicated rest and wait area and access to toilets and handwashing according to law by the employer. "
This probably only applies legally to drivers directly employed by the company. Most bike delivery drivers are on a self employed basis so does not apply to them. Along with other legislation regarding employment checks on foreign people as not working directly for the company.

Delivery drivers should be given a dedicated rest and wait area and access to toilets and handwashing according to law by the employer.

This is apparently legislation by Health and Safety executive. Check the website of HSE.
It might be worth knowing who the employer might be, is it Ocado, Deliveroo, Uber etc .
Then you can complain to the employer more easily.
Obviously most of them are overseas workers, that's my experience. The Uber Eats ones are very polite I think they are trained well. Not much experience with others.

When a mans got to go, a mans got to go!
Leaving bottles in the street is disgusting at least empty in the gutter and dispose of the bottle or just drop in a dustbin.
This is also the councils fault which put urinals on the street for hundred years, and no longer do so.
Stainless steel vandal resistant ones and for "others" That are not sure what they are or ladies a partly enclosed stainless steel  one like this!

I would also question the immigration status of these people. Rarely do you hear English.

Also, those that  cycle never stop at red lights, so wrong.

Did you know there is a scam, where people sign up as a deliveroo driver, then give someone else their login and take a cut of off the earnings.

You could complain to Waitrose regarding the ones in the car park as they own the land.
You can’t really stop people being in the high street really.

Urinating in public is disgusting and so is leaving bottles of urine all over like Uber drivers do. Impossible to police.
I once accidentally burst one when parking as left in in curb… I wanted to vomit 🤮

So so disgusting!

Delivery drivers outside McDonalds and urinating in Waitrose car park

I wanted to have a bit of a moan about delivery drivers congregating on Balham High Road outside McDonalds and also in the Waitrose car park.

I know they hang around near the McDonalds as that gets them the best chance of winning an order, and I know it's a tough job, but I feel as though that space outside Aldi and Planet Organic is now a waiting room for electric bikes and blokes hanging around and smoking, it just looks awful.

I'm also happy to be told that I'm being a bit unsympathetic but the Waitrose car park is something else.

Last week there were a gang on riders waiting in the carpark but against the wall at the back, where the trees are and which is I think the back of Nationwide and the dentists.

One of the drivers was openly urinating against that wall and another drove dangerously through the car park and shouted at a car which the bike was cut up.

Does anyone know who to raise this with? I guess the managers of McDonalds and Waitrose for a start?
