Some of my best clothes are second hand. Even the quality of high street shops dp not match 20 years ago. I still wear some of my old Top Shop clothes and they are so well made. The quality nowadays is crap. I suggest encouraging that and if he is bagging great second hand pieces why not?

Ok, I don't think I'll ever see him as cool (!) but I will allow him to continue.

I just insist on washing them thoroughly before they go anywhere near our wardrobe as I'm scared of moths.

I try to mostly buy second hand clothes for the reasons stated by chorister although I must admit my wife buys me new clothes

Fashion is one of the worst industries for both the environment and the climate and here’s the thing - there’s no “get out of jail” card. Nature doesn’t sit there saying “that’s a bit uncool so we won’t count the impact”. So if you can reduce the amount of stuff you buy, and buy secondhand if possible.

Probably a bit uncool as I’ve never heard of DePop. Know plenty of middle aged people who’ve confessed to being addicted to sites like Vinted though.

The fashion industry has a huge environment impact and personally feel that anyone who takes the time to sell / buy clothes on the second hand market should be celebrated.

Hopefully the clothes fit / suit him, and he’s wearing rather than just accumulating them.

Hello
My children buy a lot of their clothes on DePop but now my husband has started too.

He's always been a bit tight and it just feels a bit weird for a middle aged bloke to be buying second hand clothes.

I think this is probably just a reflection of my own prejudices, and I want to be honest enough with myself to recognise them, but I wondered if it was just me?

Not looking to give him a hard time or anything just wondering if he is the only one.

Thank you.
